Cornerstone Ondemand is a Tier 1 Talent Management Application – Cornerstone issued an IPO to go public just when everyone was waiting to see if they would be acquired by ADP. Through a partnership with ADP the Virtual Edge product adds the Recruiting functionality. Their product suite covers all functional disciplines with the exception of Recruiting and Workforce Planning. They have recently announced that they will build a recruiting product.

Halogen Software is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. The company was founded in 2001 having evolved from a small division within a consulting firm, Manta Corporation. The product suite started with Performance Appraisals and has grown organically into all other disciplines. All functional disciplines are represented with the exception of Workforce Planning.
Kenexa is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. Started in the Recruiting sector, with three recruiting products(Kenexa Recruiter, Webhire, BrassRing) and developed Performance Management and Learning Management. In 2010 Kenexa acquired Salary.com, which has a little more under the hood than just compensation. All modules are represented with the exception of Workforce Planning. Lumesse (formerly Stepstone Solutions) is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. The first TM solution provider from Europe to make a real run at business in North America. Lumesse already had a recruiting product (i-Grasp) when it recently acquired Mr. Ted. This sort of corners the market in Europe, it will be interesting to see if the addition bolsters their position in other regions. Lumesse has a full suite of modules representing all functional disciplines of Talent Management.
PeopleFluent (formerly Peopleclick/Authoria) is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. One of the original providers with the vision for the integrated suite, Authoria came back onto the grid in 2010 when it acquired Peopleclick and recently rebranded and go by PeopleFluent. This is sort of a do over for Authoria who originally purchased Hire.com as the Recruiting engine in 2005. The new solution set offers all modules except Learning and Workforce Planning.
Plateau is a Tier 1 Talent Management Application, recently announced plans to be acquired by SuccessFactors. The company was founded in 1996 and it’s roots are in the Learning Management discipline. Plateau really pioneered the LMS space and in 2000 bridged the gap and linked Learning to Performance. In 2007 Plateau acquired Nuvosoft a Compensation Management platform. Today the product line covers all functional disciplines of Talent Management with the exception of Recruiting and Workforce Planning.
Saba is a Tier 1 Talent Management Application. Saba was founded in 1997 with it’s roots in Learning Management. The company went public in 2000 and it acquired THINQ Learning Solutions in May 2005 and Centra Software in 2006. Saba is one of the few suites offering Workforce Planning and covers all functional disciplines of Talent Management with the exception of Recruiting.
SuccessFactors is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. Started as the powerhouse in Performance Management, SuccessFactors has grown all modules organically, adding Succession, Compensation, and Recruiting. In 2010 they acquired Infohrm to add Workforce Planning and CubeTree a business social networking platform. The product line represents a full suite of modules except for Learning, until the announced acquisition of Plateau is complete.
SumTotal Systems is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. Started in 2004 when Docent and Click2Learn merged and dominated the Learning Management space. They acquired a Performance Management company (MindSolv) in 2006. In 2010 they acquired Softscape who was probably the first to organically develop the ITM Suite. SumTotal more recently acquired GeoLearning a well established LMS platform. It will be interesting to see how the Softscape platform and GeoLearning are integrated with the other products.
Taleo is a Tier 1 Talent Management Suite. Started with a Recruiting solution and expanded by developing Performance and Succession modules. In 2010 Taleo acquired Worldwide Compensation and Learn.com to round out the suite. Taleo’s products represent all of the functional disciplines of Talent Management with the exception of Workforce Planning, however, there is currently a strategic alliance with Aruspex.
